Post Havoc Boats
Been seeing quite a few of these boats on the river & at the boat ramps this duck season with mud motors hanging off the back. Seems to be quite a popular option for people. The Havocs I've been seeing with mm on them are not the mm hull. I've seen a few boats with step transom but it's a mod v hull. Performance has got to be lacking especially under load imo. Anyway curious to know if anyone has a havoc with mm on it or know someone who does and how they're performing.

Not really a mud hull. Anything said about Excel can be said about Havoc with respect to mud motors.

1. Crimped bottoms are not ideal for a mudmotor. I don't care which way it is turned

2. Same guy that designed excels. So hopefully he has learned from his mistakes

I heard that. Well people keep buying that havoc & slapping a mm on it so it can't be that bad or the ppl buying don't know any better. Hell I've seen more Havocs with mm on it than I have an outboard and it's a boat designed for an outboard.

Are you in AR by any chance? Because that would explain everything.

Post Re: Havoc Boats
I saw 2 of em parked on a log jam this year. One with a hopped up 25 yammahammer and the other was trying to fish out the mudbuddy HD he DID have on it. In the Havocs defense though, that was an installation error. The guy didn't put any bolts through the transom. For what they are (an outboard hull) they seem pretty tough. Several of my buddies have em and put em through hell this season with no real issues. And if you want to put a hopped up outboard on the back of something, the havoc seems to be the way to go

I own a Havoc and stand by the fact that it's probably the best outboard hull being made right now. They're fast and they're hell for stout, but they're definitely not a mud boat.

Seen a few around me. They look nice and I think that's about it. Most of the owners I've seen are jackasses. Like the other day these guys jackknifed their trailer on the road to the ramp and I stopped and asked if they needed help, the guy pretty much told me to screw off. When we were on the way back to the ramp in my buddies little 14 foot boat with a 9.9 on it they flew past us and swamped the boat. Then at the ramp they had the nerve to ask if we had any luck

Look at the Ambush hulls from Legend Craft. My understanding is they are better built and 3-5 MPH faster with the same motor when running an outboard.

Yeah I've been in Arkansas and that's where I've been seeing em all. Just haven't heard anyone talk about em. And was just curious how they were performing with mm on em. Hey, that boat jack knifed on ramp wasn't on white river in Arkansas was it? I heard about a few yahoos a few weekends ago jack knife their boat and trailer at the ramp trying to be hot shots

No complaints? I've been looking & I'm thinking about getting a 1756 DBST with the new Tohatsu 50 4 - stroke for fishing and running big water. And to have as a haul boat when I run down south of Venice to hunt Pass A Loutre

I know they were having issues with the transom cracking on their mud boat. Guy that my buddies hunt with in Arkansas almost lost his PD because it cracked so bad. But they did make it right and built him a new boat with a stronger transom.

Yeah I know a guy as well that had a havoc dbst model with a gtr 35 on the back and his transom cracked as well. I must say though some hell of customer service on Havoc part because according to him they delivered an mst model to his door from Ark to GA and took his cracked transom dbst model off his hands at no extra charge.

To be fair on Havoc's behalf, most of the transom issues were from people putting mud motors on hulls designed for outboards. The only boat in their lineup that's supposed to have a mud motor on it is the MST.

True but ya know who I see putting the mm on the dB & dbst models...it's the dealers selling them like that! I guarantee you I can pull at least 15 up for sale right now online at dealerships with dB & dbst models with mm hanging on the back instead of mst models with mm.
