 Opinions on this rig
Recently bought a four rivers refuge runner with a 6.5 beavertail. What do you guys think of this set up? I have no experience with mud motors but this motor weighs almost as much as the boat I think which is like 120 pounds. I'm no light guy either I weigh about 230 pounds. I haven't been able to get out on it yet because everything is frozen here in the north. I usually would take a "sea trial" but I got the whole rig at a price where if I really hate it I could either break even or make some money. I don't expect it to be any kind of speed demon I just want something that is capable of getting me there and something that hides easy. I was thinking of putting this motor for sale if it's too heavy and looking at a kit. Staying as far as possible from the Chinese ebay shit. I was looking at the stump jumper kits but don't know much about them. Is there a kit that is light and not a pos?
Thanks, Steve

 Re: Opinions on this rig
Sounds pretty good to me, I wouldnt worry too much about the weight of the mud motor until you go run it... If you do find that the weight is causing water to run up over the rear of the layout going from WOT to an idle and you are hell bent on looking at a kit look into the backwater glider... The beavertail frame weighs around 80lbs if the whole setup is 120lbs... The glider kit weighs 95lbs with the engine... You save 25lbs which could help but should make a huge difference... Good luck!
