 First Post/ First Boat
Sup.
Going to put the deposit down on my first boat on Friday. I'm pretty excited but could use some advice from those who have them. I'm going to be getting the 37hp Gatortail with the 18x54 boat, center console model. My main uses will be for ducks and sight fishing redfish. I'm sure I'll dabble around with crabs, crawfish, frogs and bowfishing, but that won't be the main purpose.
What are some do's/ donts or recommendations for add ons that you would recommend? I'm considered the extended bow for fishing purpose, but not sure how that'll affect me if duck hunting out of it.
Thanks

Will you be hunting out of the boat or just running to your blind and if so how many people?

3. 4 tops but would require someone ton sit on the bow. I'll probably do both and will depend on the situation.

Id say go with the extended deck. you would get good use out of for fishing and can always shove gear when hunting up under it.

I have the same rig I use it for fishing and hunting. I added a lot of storage and a rail down the sides. You will really like the boat. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1423182905.684556.jpg

 Re: First Post/ First Boat
Great size for duck hunting. I have the same size and hunt 3 comfy, 4 but a little tight. If you go CC, it will be tight for 3. And forget about a low profile blind wih cc.
Cc will be great for running to fishing area .
Add spud poles for hunting and fishing. Great add-on. Get extra 12v plug on front and back. You can always add a temporary deck for bowfishing, but nice for reds to have a large platform too. Got place to hide stuff while hunting.
Gotta have a good center light, hen maybe lights on both corners to see around bends.

"Do" get some slick bottom GatorGlide is a good one! "Don't" get stuck without it!

Sounds like my boat. I opted for a tiller easier to maneuver and wrestle the boat with.
