 What boat would yall recommend???
Looking for a boat that will serve double duty, an outboard most of the time and a mm during hunting season. Where I live I can use the outboard most of the time but I hunt the Mobile delta/causeway and a mm would be awesome to have. I'm looking at the Havoc 1750 mst bc I want a hunt deck. Prob go with a 50 Tohatsu TLDI and a 35GTR. My brother has an 18ft Excel and she's a tank and just too heavy for what I want. Is there anything else out there I should look at? Thanks.

Re: What boat would yall recommend???
I met a guy around here that has a 1556 mst with a stock 2015 GTR running 31 with 3 ppl and a hunt load. Pretty sweet boat. If I wasn't such a fan of jumping over stumps and logs and beaver dams and anything else that might be around I'd sell my boat and buy a mst.

Take a look at prodigy, they have been awesome to me (my first rig) as far as service, sharing knowledge, attention to detail and more. I did a lot of research and had a lot of help on here and thats who is getting my money.

Re: What boat would yall recommend???
I was really impressed with it. The boat only weighs about 400lbs he said. I know it can't be real tough at that weight but he ran it all season and I didn't see any dents in it. Only thing I will say is that the damn cast lower unit needs a tab to bend for tiller torque. In a narrow boat you can't move the weight over enough for that thing not to push lol

I'd say my boat isn't much heavier than that. It must porpoise bad when empty.

I couldn't get it to. It's only a 15 foot boat. It just lifted the front for a second then flattened out and screamed lol

Was that a phone GPS or Garmin/ lowrance?
Those phones aren't alwaa accurate. We had three different phones the other day and they all were different at the same time. Just saying.

Phone, but either way it was way faster than my boat and it will run 26-27 on a garmin. He could just drive past me like I was tied to a tree.

Re: What boat would yall recommend???
Will the MM be a durable motor that I won't have to be working on frequently? Thats the only reason I was wanting an outboard bc to me, it seems like alot of maintenance goes into a MM that wouldnt be needed in an outboard. Ive never had one except a long tail for a few months, so I dont know. I would love to have just a 35GTR on a 1750 MST. Where Im at I have alot of shallow creeks that the MM could go to and the outboard wouldnt so that would be great. I wont be getting into alot of mud, just shallow water, so would a MM in this type of conditions be relatively low maintenance?? Thanks for all the input.

Re: What boat would yall recommend???
From what I have learned they are like anything with a motor. there will be issues BUT keep up on preventative maintenance, and there are a few tricks you can do to the engines for increased reliability (head studs instead of the bolts, increasing air flow to the oil cooler, removing grass guard etc) and minimize those issues
