Pick a reputable company and STAY with them. Habitual insurance shoppers may save a dime or two but the long time customers are the ones who really have the low costs.

I use farm bureau too. Just switched last year and they have been great. I completely disagree with staying with one company. From experience i would say more accurate advice is: stay with one company until your rates go up. Mine went up 20+% (no claims No tickets no changes at all other than i turned 25, which is when your rates are supposed to go DOWN) so i switched. Some companies reward long time customers some companies up their bill hoping they dont pay attention and just pay it. Heard of this A LOT, maybe its just a northern thing though. I dont constantly shop around its too much damn work but i do keep an eye on my bill

I just saved $600 a year on auto insurance by switching from Allstate to safeco.

Boat US. they are easy to talk too. you can get someone on the phone very easy and they seem cheap to me

Not going to start an argumeny but I would say Auto Ownerand State Farm are "reputable" companies. No way I'm paying 20% more for years to hope that it drops one day. I'm with farm bureau now and very happy so I'm not a disgruntled customer. Maybe its different down south but up here this is extremely common. Has happened to almost every person I know so its jot an isolated thing. Maybe our regs are different, less competition, or just more dishonest people but up here rates get raised after a few years and you at least have to call them out on it or switch. Not saying you are wrong for your area and customer base but up here its just how it is happens ALL the time.

I have State Farm for everything. They have been good for everything and haven't used them for the boat until now. Will let you know what i think about having them for the boat when this is all settled and i get my boat back.

I got a quote for boat dont know if it high or low but it about the same as my other boat 180 a year dont sound bad .
