I've come close so many times this year, surely somebody has done it. Anybody ever hit a deer in your boat?

Yes, two years ago going 60mph on the hwy a deer ran into the side of my boat. Bent the axle on my trailer

That's shitty. Not exactly what I meant though lol. I realize out in the marsh there isn't much chance for this but when I'm up in narrow creeks and flooding green timber I see a lot of deer. I had several run in front of me when I was on step and come just a few feet from being in my boat. Also ran up on a nice buck swimming the cash River last year. Sorta wish I would have just whacked him with a spud pole, loaded him up and went home. We never fired a shot that day lol

Do alligators count?

Only if they have antlers lol. I bet that was an oh shit moment. Come to think of it i wanna hear what all people actually run over. I've hit Canadian geese before, almost hit a pelican, ran over a swan(he was ok just kinda ruffled his feathers by mistake) and hit idk how many fish.

Were those geese carrying passports?

If they were they dropped em. You would think they would dive or fly but they just float there. Bunch of dummy's

We pulled up to a deer swimming the river last year and grabbed his horns lol. He kinda relaxed and we idled most of the way across the river and we turned him loose and let him get out of the water and take off. It was pretty cool. I figured he was about to freak out and cram an antler thru the side of my boat. He was a little basket rack 6 point, pretty young.

The one I saw was a mature 8. I almost had to help a fawn during teal season. She got tangled up in the Lilly pads right past my decoys. By the time I got untied she was loose.

I hit a deer goin 60 in a Nissan centra in arkadelphia Arkansas in college. It was a draw lol killed my car and deer but not me thank god !!

I have ran through a flock of about 30,000 coot in the dark sounded like running through choppy water(it was glass) let's just say it was funny as hell. I'm not sure how many died but I also didn'twwant to turn around and check.

Almost hit a coon while crossing some land, little shit was just fast enough.

I hit one in the long tail, cut that mother fucker right in half.

I've run over pelicans and cormorants a bunch of times. Destroyed quite a few gar and turtles. Also caught a few hogs off guard and got them in the water, but never ran them over. Almost hit a deer this season when he was running across in front of us in about a foot of water. I was in my outboard rig so I didn't want to stop, and the shithead kept running. We prolly came within 6' of each other at full chat.

I might or might not have hit a dolphin one time in a tidal creek. I saw them breech and didn't have anywhere to go. I did pick my motor out of water just as I was getting to their last location and something hit the bottom of my boat

I ran over a porcupine last summer. In my truck. Also ran over an owl.

Hit a manatee with the front of my boat once. We were chasing a school of mullet in a canal(idling) and bumped him on the back with the bow of the boat. With one swat of his tail he was gone and our 1436 johnboat was almost capsized. Good times

I was in pursuit of a suspect a few years ago going over 100 plus mph when the suspect hit a deer head on. Wow what fantastic way to end a pursuit.

I hit a nice 8 pointer two duck seasons ago in my boat. The lake I was hunting was really low from the drought, so low that we could have scooped up coolers full (If we had wanted to ) of specks and bream by hand on our way out to the lake to hunt in the mornings. One morning I had two buddy's and my dog in the boat and we were running out the creek at about 4AM. The creek at the time was a lil' bit wider than my boat with a hard sand bottom and about a foot deep and if you came off of a plane you were going to be stuck for a few minutes trying to get back up. My buddy was hungover and was passed out in the chair on the bow. As I turned a tight corner running wide open I saw a good buck standing on the side of the bank and looked like he was about to jump across, I let go of the throttle and barely avoided flipping the deer into the boat on top of my buddy that was asleep. The deer spooked and ran across the canal hitting the port side of the bow and went under the boat and was stuck underneath us in between the hull and the bottom of the creek. All you could here was his rack scraping Gatorglide and my dog was going nuts. I had to hold on to my dog while my buddy reached over the side and pushed him out from underneath the boat. He made it to the other side of the canal and stopped and looked at us like "what the F are y'all doing out here" and hauled ass. The next morning at the same time he was crossing the creek again. I was going much slower around that turn in the creek the second morning. When we pulled the boat out the water that morning I looked at the bottom of the hull and his rack had scraped grooves in the Gator Glide. I was glad that I had witnesses but things probably would have ended a little different if I hadn't had any witnesses.

I've seen plenty on the banks but not many in big water. Ran up on three crossing a canal this year And was able to get a good picture. It was on the Coosa River in alabama

Iv ran over a coon and killed it, a manatee in a air boat and a dead 150 plus inch whitetail that my uncle mounted that was already dead while setting up decoys in decatur Alabama. And I could have ran over a black bear with a gps tracking collar and a cow tag in its ear down in Pensacola bay Florida, had my shot gun ready to kill it because I thought it was a giant hog. I wish I knew how to post pics I snapped a few pics while I circle it.

I was on my way back from Venice one day years ago and a pelican dive bombed my truck. pulled my drivers side mirror totally off. talk about scare the shit out of someone!

Hit a buzzard as it launched off some road kill. Hit my window at the top and put a crack in it. Killed the buzzard deader than a hammer. Lucky it did not go through my windshield in to the front seat!

I worked a wreck one time where the vehicle had flipped over going about 45mph. The accident occurred in a sharp curve. The guy driving said he had slowed down to make the turn when a beaver ran out onto the road way. He hit the beaver with the right front wheel as he went around the curve. The momentum and the beaver caused the vehicle to flip. I was thinking B. S. the whole time.
I walked back to the inside of the curve and found a forty pound or so beaver freshly killed.

Damn! I knew there was a bounty on them damn things for a reason.

Hit a great blue heron in an old van once. Ran straight into the windshield at 70 mph and shattered it. Bird flipped over the van then came down right in front of the car behind us and cussed them to swerve to miss it and they almost wrecked. Checked the car when we stopped and there was blood shit and feathers everywhere along with the shattered windshield.

Never a deer, but plenty of nutria, alligators,fish, and coots.

I've had plenty of opportunities to hit a deer with the boat in the woods, but never the right timing to kill it. I ran through a flock of coots in a creek and they couldn't go anywhere, there were running up on the bank to get out of the way Killed several

Going to NOLA on I-10 one morning and saw what I thought was a tire that a big rig peeled off one of their wheels. But as I got closer it was too big and long for that. As I passed, looked like about 7 foot of gator but the head was squished off. I wonder if it caused a lot of damage to the vehicle that hit it. Looked like it had been hit only a few hours before.

I've hit a bunch of beaver

Well, It isn't boat related and I didn't HIT this animal but it's about as weird as it gets. My brother in law and I were supposed to usher at church one morning and he showed up late and appeared to be a little shook up and a little green so asked if he was okay and why he was late and he shook his head and said he'd tell me later.

He later told me he was on his way to church, driving on a paved road that has a lot of twists and turns in it and he came around one of the bends and there was blood all over the place. They followed a long large streak of it for over a half mile and there was hair and chunks of meat and bone all over the road. He thought it odd but kept driving and when they came around another bend there was horse trailer, with the gate down and a dead horse laying on its side. The horses head was laying on the drop down gate and it body was mangled.

Seems the horse owner had been camping at the local equestrian campground just down the road and was headed home after the weekend. He had left the horse's halter rope real long when they put him in the trailer and somehow the trailer gate wasn't secured and it dropped down and when they went around one of the bends, the horse stumbled out the back and they drug it for at least half a mile.

I don't know how he couldn't have known the gate had fell open and the horse was being drug behind the trailer. Brother in law is a deer hunter and said it was one of the ugliest things he'd ever saw.

Had a friend in high school that drove a sweet '57 Chevy that came around a curve doing about 75 MPH, out in the country, and hit a horse that was standing in the road. Killed the horse, totaled the car. I asked him what it was like hitting a horse at that speed and he said it was running into a big pile of shit. The horse went on its side at the initial impact and slid down the road with the mangled car on top of it. He crawled out the side window and walked away from the wreck unharmed.
