36+ mph 35 gtr on 18x48 extreme hull
Another 36+ mph stage 2. Could have gotten a lil more as she was still climbing but proposing too much. Touched 37 briefly. Skinny water no proposing Probably high 37s. And I ran both ways on the bayou and couldn't tell any difference in speed so no current. 36 + mph stage 2 gtr: http://youtu.be/NG5yy2MOL6c

Re: 36+ mph 35 gtr on 18x48 extreme hull
that is pretty cool - sounds great, looks like you are just about to achieve lift off. The boat on the GPS screen is going almost as fast as the shore line ripping by in the back graound. That is the fastest SD I have seen on here - also sounds like you have some engine/power to spare

She probably has a lil more on top once I put the right timing key in it.

Re: 36+ mph 35 gtr on 18x48 extreme hull
I had a stock prop worked a little. I'd say not bad for first time working a prop and getting that speed. It seems props have become the hardest thing to dial in on these things.

good job on the engine, don't blow it up before you get the prop you want. you need to paint your whole rig some bright color now so people can see you and get the fuck out of the way the copperhead clan now has some competion

What did Calen do to it? I've got cam, carb and muffler and thinking about heads. I find I don't have grunt in thick lilies. You're using 2 or 3 blade prop?

Carb cam and heads Dean.
I had a worn Gt3 blade 10p Worked to a 12p with a little added cup. It's 2-3 mph faster than a stock 10p at the same rpm

That's great and all, but we all know the real judge of a motor is how it idles in sub-freezing temps. Please post video of a thermometer and idle compared to efi.

I wouldn’t worry too much about cold starts in LA there junior achievement, that engine will fire up just fine

Good speeds. If you could get the bounce out you might pick up some more. Glad to see someone else running 36

I'm going to play with reduction to see if I can maintain speed and drop rpm.

I have floated the valves already and it's not something you would like to do. I saw this at 5500+. You know when you do float the valves. Engine changes sound a lot lol

Re: 36+ mph 35 gtr on 18x48 extreme hull
I won't run long distance at high rpm 48-4900. Is where I try to cruise at. I don't run full throttle 5250-5300 often. Just if I'm playing around. I know it's going to explode sooner or later. Then I'll build another and try to improve on what breaks first. It's a great Hobby!!!! Lmao

A 36 mph mud boat that bounces is like a 75 mph fountain fishing boat in 5 ft seas.......what's the point. Just sayin....
