 Prodrive questions
Hey guys. Living up here in the north we don't have to many prodrive guys. Anyone know a website to pick up used parts or parts for cheaper than going to the one dealer we have up here? I've got a small hole in my muffler right now, not a big deal yet but when it becomes an issue see new ones are like 200 bucks for a stock one. YIKES.
Another question I've been thinking is what are the pros/cons of taking off the cavitation plate?
Any advice is appreciated.

 Re: Prodrive questions
This is a good place for parts.
Have to week thru a lot to get to them, but they are out there.
Anytime you are looking for something, just post something and see if any one has it laying around.....
You can also buy straight from PD. Just call them and ask for Peck and he will take care of you.

 Re: Prodrive questions
The cav plate is a safety precaution when using FPR. I currently have mine off. I'm tinkering with other designs to keep the safety factor in play. Other than that, it hinders performance in the really thick stuff. If you run soupy stuff, it's not as much of a problem.

 Re: Prodrive questions
Prolly hurts taking it off in vegetation. The vertical portion of the skeg helps remove veggies that tend to wrap around the prop...therefore, it helps to clear some off.
I ran it through a lot of tall grass at SETX the other day without the cav plate and didn't have any issues. Zoom in on the vortex and you can see the outdrive without the cav plate.

 Re: Prodrive questions
I've whacked the bottom of my hull with the prop....even with the cavitation plate. You will hear when it hits! [FLUSHED FACE]
