Re: Excel F4 vs Sea Ark Mud Runner 180
Can you provide a little more info? Like where you'll use it, what motor you plan to put on it. I'd favor the sea ark just because of the horror stories I've heard of excel.
Is there a dealer near you that carries these two models, or how did you land on these boats?
Just curious.

Sounds like you want a rundown on giant douche vs turd sandwich. Plenty of other brands and builders besides those with much better customer approval.

Re: Excel F4 vs Sea Ark Mud Runner 180
The dealer near me sells these two brands. The other boat I've looked at is a G3 but it's not a boat that's truly designed for use with a mudbuddy. I was planning on the MB 37 efi for the motor and I'm located in central wisconsin.

None of the 3 brands are designed for use with any mud motor.

There is a dealer in lacrosse that carries mud boats. He may have a few different options, unless that's who you are talking about.

Re: Excel F4 vs Sea Ark Mud Runner 180
Stay away from a fucking G3 with a mud motor on it. I know what dealer you are talking about and they sell G3's by the truck load with MB's on them........................They don't work. They all land on my step with performance issue's.

Re: Excel F4 vs Sea Ark Mud Runner 180
I am actually located in La Crosse. There is a place around here that also sells gator trax but with boat and motor I want to stay below $16,000 and with avatar trax I don't think that is possible

Re: Excel F4 vs Sea Ark Mud Runner 180
Only buy from a dealer that will let you test drive, that way you know what your getting and if it meets your expectations. Also test drive different brands, they all have good and bad attributes.
Avoid Leroy.

Re: Excel F4 vs Sea Ark Mud Runner 180
You should be able to get a plain Jane hull and a standard stock motor for that.
I got lots of extras added to my gatortail, and got the boat motor and trailer for a bit more than what you are wanting to spend.

Re: Excel F4 vs Sea Ark Mud Runner 180
1754 Gator Trax with just the half box in the back is $6143 37 Mudbuddy Hyperdrive or Prodrive both are about $7000 - $7200 New trailer would be $1500 - $2000 Plus whatever the dealer charges for freight and rigging and bull shit but should definitely be able to stay under your $16k limit

If you are not stuck on a new hull, I'd say road trip and beer so long as the bottom looks good. viewtopic.php?f=63&t=61046

Re: Excel F4 vs Sea Ark Mud Runner 180
^^^agreed. I've dealt with bob before.... he comes off all peaches and cream as long as your throwing a check at him... but once he's got your money he's kind of a jerk. Bought an oitboard from him summer 2013. Came back in 5 minutes afterwards ran back in to ask him for a book for it and the guy got all pissy like I asked him to suck me off right there at the front counter r something. Then here last week was thinking about trading in my bass boat on a new mud hull/motor. He actedd SUPER interested in my bass boat. " oh send me pictures, yeah ove got 3-4 guus calling for a boat like yours!!!" emailed him over a week ago and haven't heard a thing. Bet if idda walked In with an envelope of cash heda bent over backwards dor me....
