 16x42 vs 16x48
I am wondering about the sturdiness of a 16x42 compared to a 16x48. I never hunted out of anything narrower then a 48. Is there a noticeable difference between the two? Thanks

Strength doesn't have a whole lot to do with the dimension....
I would let the engine terrain and your common load determine your hull dimension.

My boat is a 42 inch bottom and I would advise against it. It works for now but I will be upgrading to at least a 48 soon

 Re: 16x42 vs 16x48
Setx has it right. I have a 17.5x38 and it is perfect for me. 90% of the time it is me and 1 other person. I run a lot of narrow ditches and I wouldn't be able to get away with a 48 bottom. Just no way to get through a lot of the small stuff with tight turns. But I don't run open water unless I know it's going to be glassy calm or I can hug the shore.

I have a 15/42 and a buddy has a 14/48 The difference is unbelievable the 42 feels like a canoe compared to the 48

Also will effect performance having more/less plaining surface.
