Post LED Light Strips
Ordered a couple of strips to cut up and put in my storage compartments, but am having some troubles.

I know where to cut them and how to cut them, but where do I find the connectors to make the strips I cut off work? I'm running a fair amount of salt, so I need something that will stand up to the corrosion or at least the water hitting it.

I have seen the youtube videos of people with snap on connectors and I'm assuming you can solder it also (which I SUCK at). Anyone have any helpful ideas or suggestions?

Heat shrink wire connections, but i also seal them with liquid electric tape in case shrink wrap leaks. Hidden corrosion connections can be hard to find. I have also used clear silicon on connections.

After all is sealed and ready to go, I still spray down with corrosionX about twice per year if I'm going around salt water. Aerosol corrosionX is easier then pump spray.

I use adhesive lined heat shrink for anything in the boat. It seals up the connection perfectly. Little more expensive, but really not that bad.

does anyone know if I can connect one strand to another or do each of them need to be individually run back to the switch?

There is a limit to the number of leds lights per strand, but no issues for a boat. For most brands....All the lights are wired in parallel, so you can cut and connect anywhere along the strand.

They make "marine heat shrink" that has a sealant in it that's heat activated. It turns into a gel and then hardens after it cools inside the sleeve.

How precise does the diameter have to be with the heat shrink? 1/2" to big or can i melt it on?
