i watched some of my old duck commander vhs tapes over the weekend and noticed a few things. in the first duck commander video (made back in 1988) they used a long tail go devil. several years later (mid 1990's) they used a long tail mud buddy in one of the texas hunts. now you see them use a gator tail in the tv series broadcast last year.

im sure yall can see where this is going........

why did phil switch from go devil to mud buddy then to gator tail?
i thought it might be because of sponsership but havent noticed any advertisements for gator tail. i see ads for benelli during every show which explains why he switched from browning to benelli.......im just wondering why he chose gt? why not pd, mb, or a new gd?
i did notice he still has the old gd long tail.

a buddy of mine who loves to bull shit said he read some were they charge $10,000 a day to hunt with them, and you dont even get to hunt with phil and them. i didnt even think they took people on hunts? even if they do 10,000 is a little steep, i highly doubt its true...any clarification?

I've seen that on the web. I believe it was there site. It was something like $10,000 for up to 8 guys. Pays for a tour of the shop, custom duck call, breakfast and morning hunt with one of the duckmen.

And I have seen the ad for gatortail on their new movies.

I'm sure his choice of motors is directly related to how much money he can make off the deal... some people consider that a fault, but the way I see it..... the man gets paid to duck hunt. He's obviously doing something right that the rest of us haven't figured out yet.

Ask Warren Coco why Phil doesn't run a GD anymore.

early shows seem like coco and phil are buddys. thought i heard there was some history there.

I think you can get a better deal with the Flyway Highway dudes. They don't charge you near as much to hunt with them.........

Its all about supply and demand, brand name, and marketing yourself or something in a way that everybody wants it.

Phil has created a style maybe just by being himself that comes across in a fashion that people seem to want to be a part of. At least in the videos they sure do make it look like they know what they are doing and kill piles of ducks.

At the end of the day that means people buying alot of your shit, or asking you to endorse them and their stuff.

I watched their benelli reality show this summer. It will be interesting to see watch it next season to see how the fared. I heard the first split they struggled just as much as plenty of us did, and had to hit the road far and fast.

You see I can go muddin in my truck or my boat. Pic proves it.. Its nicr to have a padnah with a Dually to haul my truck around LOL. BTW that was one hell of a Load..... I calced it out at just under 19,000

Looks like the entrance to Shiloh Ridge in the 1st pic. Not by any means a Dodge fan, but I gotta give credit where it's due. 70 mph @ 1600 rpm with that kinda load is un-freakin-believable.
