So I got a 2014 f150 with a 5.0 in it and when a v6 mustang wants to race I can't win? I have 2 gears left and it stops me at 100. Wtf? I could dust this kid but when i hit 100 it just stops and he keeps going. I'm sure my god dam tires will be ok if I hit 140, so why?? I just wanna fly. I got all this power and I can't use it....

Because the government has decided that natural selection should be prevented, and ford doesn't want the liability. He starts sliding at that speed, his car more often than not doesn't immediately start flipping due to center of gravity. Your truck will. Simple physics. Btw, you should be so proud your truck would be faster than his car except it has an electronic speed limit.......

There is, but needing that guy to know your truck could outrun his car if it weren't for said limit is kinda something you might ought to have checked. Unless you were racing for pink slips or a woman (neither of which is a good idea since you don't know your truck any better than that), you're kinda getting wrapped around the axle (no pun intended) for something that is truly not safe. If you didn't know your truck had a limiter, then you likely don't have the experience to be driving at those speeds, and would put some unknowing motorists that werent participating at risk for your dick measuring contest. Go home, and just use a damn tape measure. It'll be more accurate anyway.

And unless your tires have a speed rating of V or more, you aren't safely doing 140 with them either.

I drag raced full size Trucks for several years. There is a reason they don't allow the kind of speeds you want to see in stock form... They have the aerodynamics of a barn door, and the tires truly aren't rated to handle it. Not to mention those driveshafts will turn into a bomb at anything higher than what they're governed at most of the time. The speeds and forces they experience under that truck are more than you can probably wrap your head around.

If you do some things to make it safe, yeah, it's a little better but you're still flirting with disaster. Have one want to get loose at that speed and you might as well stick your head between your legs and kiss your ass good bye.

I've had my truck between 160-170mph more than once but it was built for it, it had the suspension, brakes, drive shaft, tires, and power to do it. Not to mention I was single with no kids. No way in hell Id do that nowadays. These days I feel like John Force if I bump 80 getting on an on-ramp.

Bottom line is, the vehicle is not designed to move along at those kinds of speeds, it's not just liability, it's not just tires. There are lots of reasons. Not to mention I doubt you've been to any sort of driving courses to know how to handle something moving that fast. Things happen faster than the blink of an eye at that rate of speed. Tell the dumbass in the V6 mustang to fuck off, and you can enjoy the privilege of waking up.

It's a fuckin v6 mustang. My old 04 z71 will roast a 6 banger stang.
Next time the guy wants to race ask him if he cares if you take your shoes off bc you run faster barefoot.

Just buy a programmer and take the speed limit off. Done it with my truck can run 130 now. Only done it once. And tack was almost to red

We had an old secret service 1999 3/4 ton suburban 4x4 that would out run and accelerate my 1994 Cobra 5.0 4spd Mustang Convertible. Burb had a 502 Fuel injected big block. Saw service in Washington D.C. for its first 30k. had all the toys and was set up by a company in New Jersey for the secret service. Was one hell of a tow vic. for my 29' Envision. But couldn't pass a gas station.

SCT programmer and tirn off governor .. Hit 130 in my truck to just try 2013 f150 but my main goal was fuel mileage .. I now get 18 mpg with 34" @75

don't underestimate the new v6 mustangs they are fast little things. all ford trucks are governed at 100

I can cruise at 109.9 mph and still has a lot left. Got it to 115 down a hill. Don't really want to go any faster. If I did I would buy a sports car.

Stock 2013 ram 1/2 ton with 5.7.

You can bypass the governor on a lot of the Ford trucks by turning the ignition key from "on" to "start" while you have the pedal mashed. Real talk.

May I suggest some stickers for your back window. That seems to be good for 20 mph or so nowadays.
