Post Go Devil Swivel
Hey guys, I need some help figuring this thig out. I can't figure out what to loosen, or pull to get the motor to spin around so I can store the prop end in the boat when traveling.

Thanks

Some models don't swivel. I don't think the go devil motors with the swivel lock. I know Beavertail and back water have a lock pin.

Probably not much. Also keep in mind when trailering, more weight of the motor hangs on the back of the transom. Not sure how much that matters but I figure it might a little. I have a swivel on mine and prefer trailering with the motor inside the boat

I have a swivel on mine and never use it either.
It shouldn't affect performance if you do get one. It doesn't add to much hight. (If it did you would adjust tab above prop to compensate)
When you are riding say in the river, your handle may ride a little higher, what ever the difference is maybe an inch.

I wouldn't spend the extra to get it. (I bought mine from someone, not GD) Everyone I know pulls them with the prop hanging out the back.
I don't like it because my floor is smooth and that would just be a piece of 1" flat bar sticking up to trip over.

I will say this, I was in some deep marsh with no bottom and got a rope wrapped around the prop. I was able to swing it around and cut it off.

a little bit of closed cell foam flotation in a 16 foot duck boat is going to do absolutely nothin in the big muddy. It would also be a cold day in hell before I took a longtail out on it.

Correct. removing foam will do nothing to hurt the performance of your rig. If anything it, will help it go a little faster, whether that be to on top of the water or into it.
