30+ depends on load. Built more for load carrying, but speed has been a +. Have not run it wide ass open yet. I will be regearing and playing with the prop some. I am wanting to keep this motor
trying not to Blow it up.

I ordered an 1860 Shallow Water F4 with the duckback transom. They are custom building it for me. Triple taper chine.

Post Re: BEST MOTOR
I have a 08 Excel 18/54 remote steer with a 35 Mub Buddy and stage two kit. Before I added the exhaust and carb kit I had hell getting on plane with three people counting myself six dozen decoys and Mud Buddy blind. After the kit it was like night and day I average 27 to 29 mph empty depenting on water depth and 25 to 26 with a load. I think Mud Buddy will have all the power solutions for you. But if you go with the 6000 or 7000 you should not have anything to worry about. And as for as the reverse issue just get a good push pole I would rather push off something than lose power and speed by going with the Pro Drive the ones I have ran with are pretty slow. A freind of mine has a Pro Drive boat 17/54 and 36 hp motor and I can walk off and leave him. Also my boat and his is a .125 hull and sides so the boats should weigh about the same.

Got my motor today. Ran a little over 25 mph with just 40 minutes on the motor. Plenty fast for me. Gets on step FAST! The F4 transom really does help. I am looking for load carrying capability over blazing speed.

One thing about it you have a hell of a good boat and if the Pro Drive dont make you happy you can always try something different.

Truth is they are all good motors its just who has the latest and greatest perks that you want. I went through the same thing when I bought mine. I had a hard time deciding on Mud Buddy or Pro Drive I just got a good deal on the Mud Buddy so that helped me decide. I think it will do what you need and more.

Mud Buddy should have had reverse, and I most likely would have got one.

Yea. In my opinion, they are shooting themselves in the foot by not having a reverse model.
