I bought my boat on the spot and drove to get it at a dwlaership 300 miles away. Also it's only got a back seat and front deck. I still have to build the rest like I want it

Personally I would not buy a boat from gator Trax or go devil or pro drive. There's better options in my opinion at 1/4 of the price. As long as you have the ability to do the customization yourself

I ordered a hull from weld craft and specified my alum thickness and sent a weld blueprint for the whole boat. It's exactly how I would of built it.

Does it take 4 days to build one boat?
How many people assemble one boat?
They crank those cheap boats out probably 30 a day. I guess the cheap ones are stamped out of a mold in China or Mexico.

I've ruined more War Eagles, etc. when the bottom gets bent between the ribs. They run along then suction down and slow up. The boats look good as new from the side but they are junk when the bottom gets hooked.
That's why I ordered the Gator Trax. If they take much longer I'm going to learn how to weld and build my own. Wishful thinking on my part.
It would be great to get one of their guys to work on Saturday and Sunday and build my boat. I'd pay them under the table.
Probably not a good idea.

IF I hunted out of a weld craft it would be solid hooks from front to back. I run bad stumps with alot of weight. Poor design for many of us On here.

No. The reason weldcraft is a better option is because I don't run stumps and rocks. All we have here is grass mud and water. Very few places have trees or rocks here. Buying a gt or a pro drive or an excel here is almost a waste of money. Unless you just have the $$ to spend. For me, my custom weldcraft is great. But if I lived in southern, ms still I would have built my own. But for kansas. It's primo, my boat is .100 bottom and sides and fits the bill for this territory just fine. Luckily I didn't have to drop 8-10k on a boat for this territory

My hull wasn't 8-10K.... Glad what you have works for you but be aware you're in the minority. Most here need the extra thickness of a 1/8 or thicker hull. And even with that, most still take some sort of damage at some time in their lives.

Maybe my idea about these hull prices are off. What would you pay for a 1648 gator Trax or prodrive or any name brand duck boat? My weldcraft with a custom weld blue print and .100 alum, 1648 cost me $2000 even

A standard 1648 GoDevil Tapered Chine boat is $4350 per their website. I think a better comparison is running the two for 8-10years and then seeing what you're left with.

If something costs half of what a known quality product costs, then you're most likely going to get about half the lifespan, half the quality, or about half the performance of the known good product. This is not just aluminum boats I'm talking about here...

Seems like the debates you get involved in are centered around what these things cost. Mud boats are just like any recreational vehicle or boat for that matter. Youve gotta pay to play.

Cheap, fast, reliable: feel free to pick two...
