 what engine could i use Hi everyone, can anyone have a look and suggest what engine I could use, I was initially thinking 13hp predator but by the time I purchase the engine and upgrade the parts, valve springs, air , fuel, exhaust, rockers, rods etc. I could buy the 22hp predator. My boat is a 1436 with 12" pod that's a full width one piece. 8hp briggs, 6ft longtail with 8x5 prop, When I'm in the boat (275lbs) it really doesn't change that much in the rear, and my buddies are around 250 and we only travel with 1 other person in the boat.
