Post Boat blind size on a hunt deck boat
So i've ordered my first hunt deck boat... Pretty excited. 1854 Prodigy with the drop deck. So when your buying a boat blind do you go with the tip to the tail length or the tip to the false transom before the hunt deck starts?? so Prodigy is a true 18 ft long... the false transom is 16 1/2 ish i'm guessing. Do i need a 15-17ft blind or a 17-19 ft blind. im thinking the 15-17 but im not sure. I'm also ordering the Beavertail blind if that makes a difference or not. I had an older beavertail blind on my last boat and loved it for several reasons and it appears the newer design is only that much better. Thanks for the input everyone. you all have been a huge help so far planning and ordering this boat!!

I think most take the blind back to the false transom and not the end of the hunt deck.

I'm pretty sure I have the 15-17 bt blind on my 18' with huntdeck. It fits exactly how I wanted it to. I need to add an extension on front and have my girlfriend make a motor cover.

Thanks guys... that's what i was thinking

cut'em.... I asked him about that but it costs dramaticly more than buying one after market. If he installed it were talking very nearly double what a beavertail runs and that's without the materials on it...

You will have to place the back of a BT blind frame on the false transom. I have an 1860 extreme with a pointed bow. I fitted a 1600 series and an 1800 series. I found a deal on an 1800 series, but the 1600 series would have fit better and wouldn't have required modifications; although there wasn't enough material to fully cover the bow. For the 1800, I had to cut the front frame and had to cut 6-10 inches off of the front outer bars (holding the cordura) in order for the 1800 to fit on the gunnels. Now on to modifying the travel boot...
