 1854 gator Trax w/ 36 pro drive
I have a buddy that is considering purchasing a 1854 gator Trax w/ hunt deck and buying a new 36 pro drive to put on it. Looking for opinions on speed and carrying a load. It will be used primarily for duck hunting, carrying 4-6 guys to his blind (probably 2 mile boat ride). I am concerned that it will be a slug with the addition of the huntdeck, but most of you have alot more knowledge than me on mud rigs performance. I searched the reviews section and could not find any info on this exact set-up. Thanks

Why is your buddy concerned about speed ? He's only going on a 2 mile boat ride . He will be fine hunt deck will not affect his speed . 6 people in a boat is a heavy Load for any mud rig other then a dual rig. Should still get speeds in the mid to low 20's.

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=62949Theres a little info on it. I don't think it was the motor, but idk what was the problem. Anyway, 6 guys in a boat, you're friend needs a dual rig. But its only 2 miles, so it wouldn't matter much.

Make the other freeloading dicks that don't have a boat buy the other engine to haul their asses around.....

I doubt you will get on plane with 6 ppl. I would guess 7-8 mph

Is this something gator trax is doing more of now? I know they'll put any engine you want on there but seems like gator trax boats with pro drives are popping up more often on here.

It was a stage 2 GTR but it pushed 5 guys and gear 26 mph on my 18/56 GD hull. 32 empty for comparison

Re: 1854 gator Trax w/ 36 pro drive
seems like everyone wants a 12 guy, 30 Plus MPH rig these days.... If i can get on step with a 6 man load AND gear i'm a happy camper. And just a 2 mile run i dont care what the GPS says. If it's a race then leave 4 of them at the ramp and roll out empty, drop off the place holder and run back!!
