Post New boat? What should I buy?
Well I just put a post up last week about new boat or new motor. Received a lot of input and I really appreciate it. After yesterday going up river with my 27 hp long tail I at a whopping 5 mph pinned I said the hell with this. Looks like I'm getting a new boat and cleared with the wife. I wanted to get an excel, but in Idaho the only dealers are mudbuddy Corp and they won't take trade ins. Haven't had any really serious bites on my boat. The way it's looking is I might have to trade my boat in. It's getting down to the wire to duck season so I need a new one. The three options it looks like are G3 flat bottom 16', war eagle, and crest liner dealers. The G3 dealer is working with me and are willing to give me a great deal on mine, but it's a jet and there's no other options. The other option is war eagle and crest liner. I really want a mud motor but will settle with a yamy jet. Any ideas? Idaho is very limited on flat bottom dealers so you boys in the south be thank ful. Need input and need it quick. My boat is a G3 and haven't had a problem and it's been used as a wrecking ball on rocks.

G3 has flats. Tell your dealer to get you one. If he's not good enough to get one in for you even if you order it, then sounds like you ought to call alweld or xpress, and tell them what you're going through with your local dealer (don't have to use names since it's just a matter of them not having what you want), and see if they'll figure something out on one of their johns. Can probably get one shipped freight for reasonable. Maybe even find a dealer in Minnesota or Utah and make a weekend drive to get what you want. Don't settle, or you'll never be happy. Just understand what you're buying, and if you don't mechanic yourself, stick with the jet since you have a dealer close by that can work on it.

Or hell, call g3 and tell them what you want, but your dealer doesn't have one. I bet they might send him one for you to buy lol

I'm looking at the 18' roughneck or G3 flats, I'm a diesel technician full time so the last thing I want to do when I get home is pick up a wrench on a expensive duck boat that's new. Looking at the bustem hard blinds anybody have any opinions on those? The G3 makes a nice jet tunnel drive but it has a center console and takes up too much room. There's not enough level area to sit hunters. I'm hoping I can get the tunnel drive with a jet but be a tiller steer.
