Post Truck Programmer Opinions
I've got a 06 f150 5.4 and I'm looking to improve fuel economy. Anybody have a similar set up that uses a programmer? Or what would you reccomend those of you that have them. What kind of gains have you seen in fuel economy?

SCT is good for F-150's Not you wont see much of a gain with a gas engine, unless you can get someone to make you some custom tunes and load them on the SCT box.

I wouldn't do it. I'd let a friend try his super chips on my truck 08 f150 w/ 5.4. Mileage stayed the same. Hp might have been better but it wasn't a noticeable difference if any

It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face.

I know several people that have placed tuners on different engines...shortly there after they were either pulling them off or installing a new engine.
I personally would stay away

One of the best for a gas truck is the Diablo sport trinity. Much better product with much better tunes than bullydog and the other run of the mil brands. Still won't get you much better mpg's though. Best thing you can do for a gas truck is to make sure to regear if you change tire sizes and drive conservatively. My old truck with stocks got around 18, and I switched to 35s it dropped down to about 11. Right after that i threw some 4.56s in it and it picked back up to 15-16.. But even with custom tunes you still won't get but 3-4mpg more if you're lucky. I had a black bear custom tune on my silverado after I changed gears and it still didn't really help it much. Just made me want to floor it more to be honest
