Help Older Mud buddy jam nut problem
I think my motor is a year 2000 with a 20th Honda. I replaced the shaft and the jam nut keeps working it's way into the housing and then binds up. Almost like the prop keeps pushing it up the threads. Any ideas on how to keep the jam nut from moving?

Loctite, a pair of half height jam nuts, jbweld or a couple tack welds.... (btw, ignore the last two).

Sounds like the shaft is actually working further up the U joint. Did you drill an indention on the U joint end of the new shaft for the set screw to lock in to?
