Post 24hp mud buddy on 1436 boat
i bought a 24hp mud buddy honda from a friend that had it on a 1440 or 42 hull. i thought mine was a little wider than it actually is, but it is a 1436. took it on a quick ride today and it sits too low in the water for my liking (shocker i know). i am going to play with weight distribution, like moving the fuel tank and battery to the front of the boat, but would pods help me significantly? money is a little tight after buying the motor so id rather not buy another boat. as it sits it is a little tippy, which i knew it would be and i can deal with that, i just would like 3-4 more inches of gunnel out of the water if i can get it. so i guess my real question is will pods give me 3+ inches? hard to say without first hand experience i know, but i was hoping someone has had a similar experience. thanks alot.

If you're gonna weld something on, go with 1 pod that goes all the way across. Pods would help since it's a longtail, but having one all the way across would be better. And it wouldn't need to be as long for the same lift added.

I took a old aluminum gas tank and cut it up,welded it on the back its nothing fancy just a square box,but it works great on my 1436.
its approx12 across x,8 tall x,36 wide it carrys my 22hp predator on a go devil frame very well and helps plane faster.
With boat in water it sits level and I dont get water over transom when I stop, pod sits just out of water 1/2 inch , without me in boat and is short enuff that it is not messing with my cavatator. It also keeps my ass from dragging when in shallow areas.

I added the small beaver tail pods on my 14x36 w 25 GD and it really helps a lot of things but the main thing is when I turn real sharp (slow speed) I used to get water over the corners...not any more.
Planes quicker too. I have a 3 gal tank in the back but my battery (full size) is just in front of the read seat.

Feels more stable too.

Very cool thank you guys. I'd like to upgrade to a slightly larger boat but not til next year. The pods aren't too expensive so I was hoping they would help. I'm going to order them this week. Thanks for the help
