 13HP Beaver Tail & Decking
Well y'all, I have a Alumacraft 1436 lite and I'm planning on putting a 13HP Beaver Tail on it. Will I have enough juice to get up on a plane with 2 full grown men, dog, decoys, gear, etc... Will I have enough juice to still run through shallow flats and tight spots also?
I've seen many of people with different deck covers. I'm looking for what y'all might recommend, and looking for the most durable, rugged, and toughest stuff the would be best.
I'm a beginner at this so any advice is much appreciated!

Re: 13HP Beaver Tail & Decking
I run the exact same boat with a Homebuilt 14 horse Kohler command pro with an 8 x 4 prop. I can get on plane under the circumstances you describe.. I'm curious what size prop you have. Under those load conditions I can't get my RPMs up as high.

Its also a 8 x 4. Have you tried going to a smaller prop? I know you would probably get less speed but be able to turn more RPM's. Do you know your top speed with the setup you have now? How many RPM's are you turning?
