 Re: Ultimate Load Carrying Rig
So three transom mounts, controls on the center and tie the two engines to it... Seems simple enough. For the record, I think my hull would handle another GDSD hanging on it just fine...

 Re: Ultimate Load Carrying Rig
It's not all about the wider the boat the better the load carry. You need to have the right mods to carry the load. Plus the right chine and take on the boat so the boat will pop out the water. My 18x48 with ex rake, carb, heads, exhaust, and high rev coils will can carry a full duck load plus 3 men and dog and do a smooth 28 all day. I know that's not fast and there are way faster boats than mine, when a buddy's 18x60 with just exhaust with the same load is lucky to hit 25. I keep my boat heaven with tools and extra floatations devices along with 2 batteries trolling Motor and a full tank at the beginning of every voyage. I built this boat for hunting and fishing. It takes 2 foot chop no problem and I stay dry. Know that I have a bay boat I am selling this rig to downgrade and build another rig just for duck hunting.

 Re: Ultimate Load Carrying Rig
So if you are wanting to get a big boat also be ready to fork out another 1500 in mods to be satisfied.

 Re: Ultimate Load Carrying Rig
My understanding is with the 37s They are doing far more qa/qc on headwork, added with the efi makes it very similar to a 35 with mikuni and a good valve job. I've been beyond impressed with mine.

 Re: Ultimate Load Carrying Rig
So basically the general consensus is get a 18x56 hull, mikuni carb, new heads, one topless chick, two bottles of moonshine (one for the motor and one for myself) and roll out with all the fat guys and gear I want?

 Ultimate Load Carrying Rig
I run a 2054 PD w/ 37EFI and am loaded to the gills every weekend on a 15 mile run and the boat is no speed demon but does just fine! After having a 20' boat there's no chance I'd ever go shorter.
That's me, 25gal fuel, 5 50# sacks of deer feed, full 75qt yeti, deer and duck hunting gear, 2 big bundles of brush and the boat gets on plane just fine, and runs 20mph or so in deep water. Nothing spectacular but does the job for me! Just for reference, lightly loaded I see 24-27mph depending on depth and current.

No floor space here except for where my feet sit under the console! Oh yeah.....those are 24" sides. LOL

 Re: Ultimate Load Carrying Rig
Lol big as my boat is , if I filled up all my floor space I do t know if my motors will get up in a plane. I have a lot of floor space ! Guess I'll find out when the time comes. I'm pretty sure it will do fine . I'm Spose to be swapping three blade props with GT . I have the 10" instead of the 10.5"

 Re: Ultimate Load Carrying Rig
Don't leave chine design out of the equation. Square chines are king when it comes to speed with a load., no matter what some other knuckleheads tell you.
