 Alumabrite Looking for the do's and dont's in working with this product. I've never used it or prepped bare al for paint. Any advice?

Re: Alumabrite Ive mixed it 50/50 with water the few times I've used it. Use a garden sprayer. Let it sit for a few minutes then rinse with water.
Im not sure if its the correct way or not tbough.

It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face.

Re: Alumabrite Alumabrite is perfect when prepping for paint, it cleans out the pores in the aluminum to where a self etching primer can get into the pores and stick better. But it also needs to be cleaned with a brush if it's been sitting more than a day or two because of the oxide that forms on the metal. The oxide will also keep paint from sticking good

Re: Alumabrite It's some bad as stuff. I sprayed it on with and old windex Bottle. I then lightly brushed it in with a car cleaning brush. Then rinse it with a hose. Just make sure you do it outside in a well ventilated area, and one of those little breathing masks isn't a terrible idea.

Re: Alumabrite My last few hulls I've sanded then sprayed with purple power and it etches it pretty good. But you have to wash it very well because that soap will stay on the metal.

Re: Alumabrite When I use it on a new boat I do not cut it with water. I spray it pure let it sit for about 5-7 min wash it well with water. Next day wipe it with aceatone and spray it with self etching primer.
