I wanted to take the opportunity to thank the Gator-Tail crew for their hospitality last weekend. I have been lurking on this site for about 3 months as I planned my first Mud Motor purchase. I live in Pennsylvania and will be using the boat in the New Jersey mud. Mud Motors are a rarity up here, so my only real source of information is this site. Last week I took the advice that I have read a hundred times on and flew down to LA to test drive a couple of boats. Mr. Broussard was kind enough to invite me to go ridin' with his crew and sample some of his boats.

My mind was blown. I can't believe where these things will go. The ride was great, although I am glad I rode with Gator Tail guys. If I had ridden in one of those ProDrives, I never would have seen so much of the marsh. Do the ProDrives always get stuck so easy? I could never own a ProDrive up here because there are no GTR's to pull me out when it got stuck.

I am a convert, and not just to Mud Motors and Gator Tail. Where can I go to renounce my Yankeeness? I want to be a Cajun. You guys sure know how to hunt, eat, and drink.

I am sold on the GTR and the Xtreme. I placed an order yesterday for an 1854 Xtreme with a GTR 35 and all the trimmings. Can't wait to get it. I will post a proper review from the Jersey mud once I get it.

Thanks again Kyle, Tony, Hoyt, Jason, and everyone else that went on the ride last week. Y'all sold me. Hope to ride with you again in the future.

I have nothing against ProDrives. Hell my 5 minutes of stick time certainly doesn't qualify me to comment on anything related to MM brands. In fact I think the FPR is pretty cool and I am glad I got to see one in action. The ProDrive just isn't right for me now.

What I really learned on my test drive is that it takes a lot of skill to drive one of these things well, and that brand is secondary to skill. It is going to take me a while to learn to drive one. Hopefully when I get stuck, I can find someone to pull me out.

My thanks again to everyone who has educated me on this purchase. I couldn't fathom trying to figure this out without MMT. And I will refrain from talking sh#t until my name has been on the boat's title for at least 20 minutes.
