 15/44 hull selection
I am on a mission to find a reasonable priced 15/44 true flat bottom 1/8 hull to put my copperhead 23 on the back. So far I have looked at Gator Trax rogue, venom outdoor, cottonmouth, alweld mud series. Venom and gator trax are fairly high priced alweld's new to the mud hull market and cottonmouth is relocating to a bigger shop and out of commission for a few weeks. So I am open to suggestions. At the moment the motor is on a 14/48 ribbed fisher alweld with mod v rake and 20 inch sides so I know I'm not getting what is possible out of my motor. Looking for something in the $3500-$5500 range plus trailer max budget of $6500.

 Re: 15/44 hull selection
The Gatortrax is a tough boat. Turns on a dime. One that size would probably be a lot of fun to drive

Is a hunt deck on a gator trax worth the extra?

 Re: 15/44 hull selection
It depends. I spend a lot of time on mine but if they're still building the false transom all the way to the floor then I wouldnt go that route. Eventually if you run your boat hard it's gonna get a hook. If you have 2 transoms like I do then you have 2 hooks and you cant get to the one in the back to beat the dents out

 Re: 15/44 hull selection
Is the 38 inch bottom rogue stable or would you keep the standard 44 inch boat

 Re: 15/44 hull selection
38 is plenty stable. Go devil also makes a 38" wide hull that is probably a little cheaper than the gatortrax.

We just finished a 16x44 that the customer put a 23hp GTR on it. Photos are on our FB https://www.facebook.com/Uncle-J-Custom ... 702023085/
