 Re: Godevil 24hp
They get hot quick. Also, just because there is grease in the cup doesn't mean it's working.

 Re: Godevil 24hp
They all get hot. Not so hot it burns you but hot like a hot bath. And there should be grease zirts on the shaft of your longtail. Pump it until you see the grease level I the cup rise
It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face.

 Re: Godevil 24hp
Sorry didn't see you replied back. Yeah, what he said. I've never touched it after running so don't really know. That stopper in the auto greaser should rise when you pump grease. Don't pump in the zert that's connected directly to the auto greaser. Use one on the shaft. If you want you can let it idle for a little while and get the old grease hot so the new grease can flow in there better.

You don't have enough grease in your shaft.

 Re: Godevil 24hp
While you're running it you inevitably lose grease. If you run for over an hour when playing or fishing or whatever. You should grease it. When u get done. My runs are usually only 20-30 minutes at most. I grease after 2 trips. If I'm playing I'll grease it when I'm done or before I go out again. And it takes alot of fuggin grease to fill the shaft for the first time. Better have strong fore arms or an automatic grease gun of some kind. My guess is you have a bushing that's almost if not already turned to shit if you have that much heat. If your prop wobbles you should start googling how to put in new bushings.

 Re: Godevil 24hp
I don't grease mine nearly that much. I watch the "float" in the greaser. When it goes down I add a few pumps. If you grease it all the time you risk blowing out seals or they are already blown out. I run mine pretty much every weekend from Oct to Feb.

 Re: Godevil 24hp
I made mine and my top and bottom don't have seals. My bottom is a shaft end bushing it doesn't leak so bad. my top is a flange bearing and for some reason the grease pushes out thru the bearing. In my build I figured making a flange for the flange bearing to sit on and making a gasket for it would keep grease in, not sure if that's flawed logic or the seal on my bearing was bad right out of the gate. So I leak probably 2 ounces every run.

 Re: Godevil 24hp
They are not too bad. Sounds like you have never read the owners manual though. It's on go devils website, pdf file. You need seals and probably bushings. The top will get hot, if it's not burning the paint off the shaft your probably okay. The manual will have instructions on how to change everything. Please use the search feature when you can't figure out how to remove the prop. Are you losing any grease on the prop end? Is there grease on the shaft between the shaft housing and prop?
You will have to have your serial number ready when you call go devil to order your parts. It's stamped on the frame right under the U -joint.
