My 1644 gator Trax 36pd will draft 4-5" sitting in the water...
Drafts 7-8" idle pushing wake...
Fuel-7 gals up front battery n back due to boat will push water in front when planed out w.o.t
My question is what would a x series draft with the rounded chimes 18x48 ?
18x54 no hunt decks..
Anyone can shed light on this?

My buds 2154 drafted 1" in the back an looked like2-2.5" at idle... but he had alot of weight in the front..also square chimes..
Wish prodrive would have spec sheet on the hulls.

How much water a hull drafts is going to vary on how much junk you carry and where you put it. Chine design has a lot to do with that also. The more bottom surface area you have, the less water you should draft. I posted pics of my GD 1860 hull not long ago comparing it with a light hunting load at rest, vs running on step in shallow water. I believe they were in this section if you look a bit. I'm sure the reason each manufacturer doesn't advertise draft measurements is they don't have the time to field phone calls about "why does my boat sit 1/2" lower on the port side than what you say it should..." It would be a nightmare.... Basically the bigger and flatter the hull (with evenly placed load) the shallower you will float.

Yea tex that's a good point I know a guy that would be raising hell over 1/2 a inch in either direction.
I'm trying to find some prodrive tiller setups on Google to get a rough idea. I always run as light an balanced as possible I even move my battery to front of boat when in shallow for a while..plus the yeti is a nice counter weight ... I may go to the boat show this weekend to talk to prodrive an see what they have to say.

A cubic foot of water weighs about 62.4 lbs. A slice 1 inch X 12 inches X 12 inches weighs about 5.2 lbs. If your boat is a flat with no deadrise measure from the transom to where the front is in the water. Multiply this length by the bottom width to get square ft of bottom. Each square ft will support 5.2 lbs. A rough calculation on a 20 X 48 boat is 16 feet from transom to where the bow starts to rise from the water. 16 ft X 4 ft is 64 square feet times 5.2 lbs = 332.8 lbs per inch of displacement. Using these numbers 4 inches of level displacement gives a total weight of boat and load of 1331.2 lbs. Admittedly these are rough numbers, and you can "WHAT IF" this to death, but I've found it very useful when comparing carrying capacity of boats with different lengths and widths. Obviously, these calculations are only for a boat at rest. If you can add enough power you can plane out a manhole cover. Have you ever skipped a flat rock?
