 Aluminum skiff with surface drive?
I was wondering how well a surface drive works on a aluminum skiff style boat? The price on a 1/8 inch aluminum skiff is closer to my budget than most of the true SD boats out. Bottom width would be 45 inch length 18-20 feet. I just need to know if the cons might out weigh the price difference, or if it will work just fine?

Re: Aluminum skiff with surface drive?
I ran a prodrive on mine for the longest time and did good. I got rid of it last year because i put my outboard back on. Ran across a good deal on used GTR last week and im going pick it up sunday. Im sure it will do all that i need but i will let you know in the next week or so for sure.

viewtopic.php?t=66110Talk to this guy or look up the thread he started about this boat. He was pretty happy with it, I think. It's not his only rig, just one he had built last year

Had a 32 hp PD with stage one on a 18x40 skiff. Ran good and carried a load good
