Post Weight distribution
Curious... What's everybody doing, I'm running battery in the front and fuel tank in back. I see a lot of guys running tank up front, batt in back. Does it matter? Is it just preference, or on a boat by boat basis?

That's a very open ended question.
It all comes to what size boat you are running.
and how your boat handles weight.
I have a 15ft boat and run the battery and gas tank in the back, and I still kind need a little more weight in the back.
But I also had a 16ft boat with a 36 prodrive, with battery in the back and gas tank in the middle.
It all depends on your rig.

I would have swapped it around if it were me.
Battery in back and fuel up front.
Also, try the tank towards the middle.
That is a small boat for that motor, but ive done it before too.

Fill a gas can up and bring a loose battery when you have some time to experiment. Move it all around and see what works. The almost empty tank won't affect much and if you happen to run out you've got the can. Might learn something new in the process. My boat likes weight between just in front of midway in the floor, and behind the front deck. Works well for hauling. As for things like fuel and battery. My fuel is in front (15+gal) with trolling motor and a group 31 trolling battery, smaller cranking and accessory battery is in the rear.

Coolers full of water work well to be able to move around in the boat for experimenting. Every rig is different depending on size and design as well as how much power you have to move it with.
