Prodrive 1854 w/ 37 hp EFI Generation 4 (tiller steer)
Contemplating throwing down lots of cash for one of these rigs. For the past 20 yrs or so been hunting around 15 of them in an old 1955 14ft Jon boat w/25 hp evinrude, so we are not a newbe. Selling it some time ago and hunting private waters. Ok my question for my fellow MMT guys is could I get all your info and knowledge (good or bad) and everything in between on this boat-rig. I would appreciate it so much. Thanking MMT in advance for your time and info, be patient and successful in our upcoming 2016-17 waterfowl season.

I have a boat that same size with a stock HDR37 and I wish I would have bumped up to the BD4400. My boat runs 27-28 solo and carries a load pretty well I just wish I had that extra speed when in big water. I'm not a huge fan of the pro drive motors ( admittedly I have never drove one) but they make a great boat. What options are you wanting to add?

I wouldn't go SBX, with that size boat, with stock motor.
THe new EFI' are stout though.
Id personally go with the X series, or the TDX series.

I love my 1854 SBX CC. Flotation/self bail is definitely comforting. But it is a VERY heavy boat. I have an early 2013 Gen II so I can't speak the other lower units, but I ended up getting cam/heads/exhaust to carry a 3-4 man duck load adequately. 25-27 with 4 guys full duck load, 27-29 with 2 people and full speck load. I fish a lot so the big boat is nice, probably too big for just a hunting rig though
