Had to take a wet sponge and hand to it once it tacked up to smooth it all out.

For the record this was an absolute abortion. FTS I'm not going to ever mess with these two products again. Next boat will be new with a flat bottom and G2 on it

I had good luck with the steel flex. Never messed with the filler and never tried to put it on somethin that rough though.

 Re: Prepping for fasco #7
Yea, I just kinda dumped most of mine out in a line down the middle of the boat, pushed it around with the roller, made sure there was no big puddles, and then rolled it up and around the tape line. It did the rest on it's own. Was pretty easy. I could see how it would be a lot more difficult with a banged up bottom though. Lot more places where it would naturally want to pool. GG would definitely be easier to apply on that.

It may be ugly, but long as it sticks, it'll be fine.

I hope it all works out. Know it's not been a whole lot of fun messing with it.

 Re: Prepping for fasco #7
I have a few nasty hooks on my older excel when they did the horizontal stringers. Take a look at the bottom sometime lol. Like Frog said in the thread, I don't think it causes as much of performance loss as we would think. My nose also doesn't plow when running tho

 Re: Prepping for fasco #7
The roller probably leaves a stipling. I would think that would be better than perfectly smooth. Kinda like why a golf ball flies better than a smooth ball or the swim suits that mimic a sharks skin.

 Re: Prepping for fasco #7
I know with gator glide you want it to have a texture to it, helps with the slip

 Re: Prepping for fasco #7
go to big truck parts store. they sell poly by the foot on a big roll. used to be about 10$ a foot and is 8' wide.
get a podna to go in with you and buy a 20' piece and cut in half longways.[ if yall have 48'' bottoms or less.
screw that biatch onto the bottom and go play!!!!

 Re: Prepping for fasco #7
Finally got the boat wet at the Seminole ride this weekend. It did great. The hooks were definitely the culprit. Before, my spray line was up near the start of the rake. It is now just behind the storage boxes at the middle of the boat. Handling is night and day difference. 26 deep with 2 of us,a full 45qt cooler, and 12 gallons. Add one 220lb guy to the mix and it only drops to 25 deep. I can actually make turns under power (almost full throttle on most turns) and the boat leans into the turns too which it didn't do before. It does better in rough water now too with the bow of the boat staying up. I also knocked the shit out of some stumps this weekend and the fastone is still in place.

Good deal, that vid you sent sounds strong! Any idea if swapping the exhaust made a difference on the water?

 Re: Prepping for fasco #7
I was shooting for close to stock volume with a little better flow, and baffle setup. Maybe I succeeded.
