My beavertail upper bearing runs hot too. You can't hold your hand on it after a long run.

I understand a bearing running a little warm. However, Hot. Not so much. Hot comes with being too tight and hence high internal friction or from inadequate lubrication. Stiff grease will run hotter that lighter grease - lubrication. Have you tried light gear oil to see? Bearings are fussy and the mounting dimensions and tolerances are fussy too. Too tight of a fit of either the inner shaft tolerances or the outer pocket tolerances will tighten internal dimensions in the bearing and cause - heat.

That is running at 3400 to 3600 RPM Doing like 19 - 20 Mph Can some one check there while there running and feed back would really be appreciated I just want to make sure Im ok New Seal ,Bearings and Drive Shaft. Mud Buddy Said to losing up the Set Screws on the motor side and run it like that to make sure the U joint gets the sweet spot I have it looks like in improved which before was 190degs to 220 when I first did all the new things. Take out the spark plugs, grab your prop and try to turn it. If you feel a lot of torque there is still a bind somewhere. My guess is still the U joint isn't set right.

Once you get it right, try to remember to mark the shaft(s) on each side of the U Joint with a Sharpie before you disassemble.

Had a hot upper bushing with a GDLT. Turned out the shaft tube was bent. Had to put it up against a tree and beat it with hammer to get it back straight. That was actually how coco told me to fix it.
