 Battery Location?
I will be getting a custom hull built in the near future and it will be my first with a mud motor. I will be using a 24 volt trolling motor on the bow, and was thinking that 2 batteries up front with 12 gallons of fuel would make too much weight up front? Ideas and suggestions are welcomed.
As I am new to this forum, if this is the incorrect place to post this please steer me the correct direction Thanks, Kyle

 Re: Battery Location?
It will vary, and people with that setup will be able to give you more insight.
From my experience, moving things as little as a few inches can have a big effect. If my 120lb wife rides on the bow, it slows me down about 2 mph over her sitting in the middle.
Might be a trial and error thing.

 Re: Battery Location?
BACK.....but I'm sure it will depend on the build. My prodigy doesn't like anything up on the bow.
I just moved both batteries to the back on my boat...really hated having to drill new holes in brand new custom boat but I had to do it.

 Re: Battery Location?
keep your starting battery near the rear and the trolling motor batteries under the front deck. you will find yourself pulling the trolling motor and both batteries when u want to run fast. them little lawnmower engines are weight sensitive for sure.
