Adda Boy!! The right section! I was just giving you a hard time,
Hell, if you don't have HP restrictions, go with a 35. Not much heavier. But yes, the 25 will do the job

The weight difference itself isn't going to be enough to notice. You'd be better off sticking with a PD if you're talking about smaller hp due to the 100% thrust you get in reverse with a PD. I'd stick with what you've got.
Is the weight your only reason for wanting to change?

Weight is high on the list. its a short transom also and so it sets pretty low is the water . Prodrive pushes pretty good just kinda slow really like the boat and would hate to get rid of it but do know it's not made for mud motor so they may not do as good as they should on it .

Yeap, that would be a good choice on the GTR too. Ive had a 36 prodrive on a 14x42 short transom and it worked. my current boat is a 16x44 or 48" I haven't measured, and its a short transom. Works good too.

Figured it pick up some speed with the gtr but the full power reverse is pretty nice

The new 25 weighs the same as a 35. They are now both big block. Is gt still offering Subaru?

Re: 25 gtr on a 1546 Xpress ? Anyone run one
If you are looking for a deal, I have a friend who posted a 25 GTR for sale on this website. He bought the motor brand new earlier this year. Never been started or put on a boat since he picked it up. His boat builder didn't come through, and hes now going to buy a complete rig ready to go next year. Pretty good deal on the motor.
It should run quite well on the 15/46 xpress. I have one on a 3/16 bottom Uncle J and it runs decent for a heavy ass boat. That express is way lighter.

should be able to buy a new belt and housing for the gtr to make it a short transom motor that's what we did on a buddy of mines 35 when he switched boats

If I rised the transom high on my boat think 35 or 37 be too much for the size boat I have ? Think they weight same as my 25 Prodrive does now probly have more power to get up on plane easyier with the big block if boat could handle it
