 Are all props created equally?
What I mean is a Backwater any better than a Hill Marine? Or any other manufacturer for that matter? Any to avoid?
Thanks Darryle

Re: Are all props created equally?
9x6 props
BPS = 9.25-9.50" measurement, heavy cup, great for heavy loads and digging, doesn't wear down fast
Backwater= 8.5-8.75" measurement, not a heavy cup, great as a speed prop, wears down the fastest in mud/sand mixture
Godevil = true to 9", not aggressive like BPS, not as Fast as backwater... it's a great in between prop.......
That's what I've found out over the last 2 years with my longtail

Ninja is correct about prop variability; the same is true of boat hull and load. Trial and error process. I have had all mfg.types, my last was a Hill, very stout with little wear. Both Hill and Backwater prices are good. Make sure you always have a spare prop!

Re: Are all props created equally?
I've never whined about any of the 5 longtails I've owned. My first duck boat motor was an Evinrude outboard, that SOB was expensive to fix every time, the only saving grace was I only had to change the prop once. The one thing to definitely avoid is SAND.
