 Re: live well
yes that is what i thought as well, but apparently it still gets way to hot for shrimp. can anyone let me know how their live well holds up to the heat in regards to keeping bait alive?

 Re: live well
key too keepin bait alive any bait is water temperature. the colder the water the more o2 it will hold and less stress on your bait. I would dump a bag of ice in my well befor I got bait too bring the water down and try too maintain that temp. I keep a 30 gal round plastic live well in my truck for the mullet run I keep the temp round 70 I run a o2 dissolver and a recirculate the water too keep it moving I also treat my water. for shrimp u can also do the wet paper towels on ice and salt trick and keep em in the cooler

Five gallon bucket with the aerator lid....2 D cell batteries. Change the water as often as you want.

 Re: live well
The just freeze a couple bottles of water and throw one in there to keep the water cool. When it melts change it out with a new frozen one

 Re: live well
I wouldn't introduce ice directly into bait tank if you are holding shrimp, Put ice in a zip lock or use plastic bottles like suggested above. Don't let anybody stick their hands in the tank either, always use a bait net. Nothing worse than getting on a bite and all of your bait dies.

 Re: live well
Run an oxygen response system, recirculating live well and to control temps in the livewell use frozen water bottles. Throwing ice in the saltwater could stress the shrimp as you're changing the salinity levels.

 Re: live well
Get them to build a custom insulated live well. If they wont, go with someone who will
We have done a few with no complaints
Plumbing of the livewell is like electronics, there's a cheap way and an expensive way
