 Building my own boat... help
Hey fellas I and two other will be building a custom boat in Gonzales LA at Deep South Laser very soon.
Anyways we are going to build a 18x60 side console with a huntdeck. basically we want a open mudboat floor plan with a small side console steering for ease of use. Will likely run a 90hp Mercury with hydro jackplate. Picture below (if it shows in post) is similiar to what we have in mind as far as the hull, side console and hunt deck should look like. We have access to a large CNC Laser to cut what we want precisely for the decking and custom parts.
We will be using a 3/16 bent hull and go from there.
My questions
What should my angle be for the sides from the bottom of the hull?
Does my bracing on the bottom of hull have to be bent to the rake or can I cut the runners and weld them in?
What should my transom angle be?
Anything else I should know before I start?
Anyhelp is appreciated. I provide beer to anyone local willing to give pointers.
Thank you in advance

Ok I believe I have pretty much everything figured out besides the length of the rake. I don't want a super long take and I'm worried about cutting it to short. What would be a good length for the rake on an 18x60 flat???

Re: Building my own boat... help
I've seen a 6.5 ft rake on a 16, 5 ft and 6 ft rake on a 17, and 5.5 ft on an 18. They all looked fine. I prefer a shorter rake, so if I was going 18ft, I'd probably do at least 4ft, but no longer than 6.
