Post astro turf in snow and ice
this weekend I was reminded how slippery aluminum is with 2" of snow and ice on it.
tough to walk around

how does astro turf hold up to snow, ice, freezing rain. does it give you good footing
or do you slip and slide on it also

Astro turf (like outdoor carpet or sports field) or hydro turf (eva foam)?

Most watercraft use Hydro Turf or similiar.

I'm sure that it would still be slippery, but it would be much better than bare aluminum. With just water, hydro turf can still be slick - but it's much better than not having the turf.

Turf holds up fine and sure cuts down on the slickness when there's snow in the boat.

I'm from Virginia and most of our duck season the temps are well below freezing. Before I put hydroturf in my boat the water from my waders would freeze to the bottom of the boat within minutes making it very slick. After adding the turf I haven't had a single problem with ice in the boat. Definitely good stuff and it holds up well.

That is why I live in Texas, freezing, sleet, and snow in the morning, 60-70 degrees, shorts and t-shirts by noon. If those damn tornados would just stay in Oklahoma!!!!

Have turf throughout my boat and it makes a difference when the shit gets cold but when enough water builds up in an area it's slick af once she's froze

Astro turf sucks and gets slippery when snow and ice are on it.

Hydro turf works great in ice and snow conditions. A good majority of our season in Michigan is snow and ice weather and I never have problems with it getting slippery. 100% better than bare aluminum that's for sure.
