I know some of y'all also employ Mexican labor, one of my better guys pulled me aside today and told me not to plan anything for Thursday because Mexicans nation wide are going to lay out of work to "teach us a lesson" about how we need them in light of the recent deportations in several states. I don't know if they really will. Just a heads up.

Thing about it is it's kinda hard to find good help right now. We've had some of these guys for 15 years or more and they do excellent work. We like the guys, we get along with them well, but I suppose some of them might think they have something to prove.

80% of them didn't show up where im at.

Hope a bunch of them get fired! Then deported!!!!! My brother, who was hit by a cop while riding his Harley, had to spend 2 years in court proving he couldn't work like he did before. The wreck screwed up his right shoulder and his neck. He had 4 different surgeries. The courts said his was working before, during, and after his surgeries because some wetback was using his SS# in California. While he was living in Oklahoma. Oh and BTW they caught the guy but California released him within 2 days.

If they want to protest whatever, fine. But if they didn't actually call in sick or take off according to employment leave policies, wonder how many get fired. Alot of employers don't want to wind up in court regardless of the fact they'd be in the right if they did. They'll have to pay their defense fees, and there are enough judges out there that would twist the wording of those laws that exist to protect worker and employer and the employer would lose. Catch 22, and another example of why right and wrong are useless principles nowadays.

Flint , I've been in construction since1994 , incorporated since 1999 .I fought hiring illegals vs local trades till Katrina , area flooded with them after that. That broke the dam . I saw every trade go soon to illegal labor. Call it what you will. But when it affects your trades and pocket it stings more. It forced all if us in business to adapt or become extinct.

This problem started with LBJ and his "government give me" programs. If they would have kept enforcing the immigration laws put in place in the 1950s, then this problem would not be!

Personally, I think our immigration laws should be "Law of Reciprocity", Our laws reflect the laws of their country of origin. In over 80% of the world they do not allow immigration or immigrates at all.
