 Boat remodel round 2
Got the boat back from paint today. Color came out a little funky but it was free so i can't complain. Its like a light tan color, apparently with pink tint i cant see.....but like i said cant complain for a free blast and paint job. Lesson learned you should probably let someone else pick the color if your color blind..lol. Got it flipped this evening and gonna start the fresh glide tomorrow. More pics to come when i get it right side up and start getting turf in and motor back on and painted and all the fun that goes with re-rigging a boat.
Grab bars were changed to black, going with black turf, and painting the motor black. I think it will come together nicely with the tan boat. IMG_0894.JPGIMG_1171.JPG

With a few darker stripes it'll blend into that marsh grass pretty well!

 Re: Boat remodel round 2
Sweet pink boat. Yea some nat gear or shadow grass stencils and rattle cans would fix that in a hurry.
It's not really that bad tho.

If you wouldn't have said it had a pink tint I don't think i would have noticed. Are you going to stencil it ?

Got the Gator glide done last week and Got motor painted and hung this morning. Finish rigging and hydroturff next. If anyone in Houston area needs a motor stand you can have this one, IMG_1248.JPGIMG_1249.JPGIMG_1252.JPG

 Re: Boat remodel round 2
I took my Marshmellow off and blasted it in the cabinet. Then blew air through it forever to get the sand out. I then painted it with an extreme high temperature black paint. I did it a year ago and it has held up nicely. It turned out as a flat finished dark gray. I also powder coated the muffler brackets, valve covers, and heat shields a matte black.

 Re: Boat remodel round 2
Well if i can get the hydro turff to stick this is what it's going to look like. Any suggestions on what to glue it down with? I about pulled my hair out over contact cement....I couldn't get that shit to stick for nothing i used the weldwood brand, said it would work on metal. In fine print on the back it said not recommended on foam..any other suggestions?

 Re: Boat remodel round 2
Weldwood contact cement works great. Have to put it on the turf and the floor, then let it dry for ten minutes or so before laying it down. If it didnt work for you, you did something wrong.

 Re: Boat remodel round 2
Also, if you don't let it cure long enough before you stick it down, it will bubble up on you, you'll have to pop them all with a razorblade. Let it dry good before you lay the turf

How many sheets of turf did you end up needing for the whole thing?

Looks good man. I am deciding on whether or not I want turf in my 18x56. I did the same sort of thing removing the back, and I plan to paint the whole boat in the next few weeks.
