 Pro-Drive 36 theft deterrence
I just upgraded to a 1960 Phowler MV with a 36 Pro-Drive. What is the most effective way to lock the motor to the hull to deter theft?

Bolt it through the hull, use red loctite and chain it to something if you can (if it lives outside). Douchebags will steal the shingles off your roof while you sleep in my area. Had plenty of other stuff deeboed but not the motor.
This won't prevent a determined thief but a lazy one ain't going to snatch it real quick.

 Re: Pro-Drive 36 theft deterrence
I've got it bolted to the hull and a chain on the trailer. I was just looking for more if something else is out there. I had an outboard motor padlock on my last boat, but the Pro-Drive has too much junk in the way for it to work.
(edited out the question that was here because I found a lock for my swing away tongue.)
I live in a place where things will walk off if not tended appropriately.

Do what you can to keep thieves from walking off with it, and make sure to insure the boat.
A prodrive is 330 lbs. They are heavy, them thangs don't just walk off really quick

With the advent of battery operated 3" disc grinders ain't anything safe any more. That's why there are so many tree stands and stuff for sale.

Buddy of mines uncle guards his ice house with a .300 win mag from his deck at about 400 yards... people tend to not go near it

Someone here once suggested setting up a target range with a backhoe parked next to it for theft deterrent.

Push it as far up against something as you can and run a pole with a chain through it through your trailer tires. They would have to roll the whole boat forward to get to the motor but the pole through the tires wont allow it to roll forward. We used to do this when we would go places with 4 wheelers on a trailers.
