Post Welding procedure
I am making an aluminum layout boat, got it tacked together. Now what's the proper way to weld ? 6" welds in a pattern similar to titling wheel nuts or is there a better way to avoid warping ?
Thanks for the help

The best way I've figured out is weld back to your weld if that makes sense. Start from right and weld left for as far as your comfortable then stop. After that start again from the right about as far as you feel comfortable then run to your previous start.

It gets rid of cold starts a little and makes it look a little cleaner.

And there's no way I've found to avoid warping in thin aluminum.

And after you tack it up, sand the tacks down as much as you can before you weld. Then when you weld over them you can't even tell where they were.
