 Removable Transducer Mounts?
How is everyone mounting their transducers? I want mine removable.
I see some putting them on a spud pole / small pole they can remove or lower/raise as needed with a pin etc. I've seen some hard mounted but in the mud that's just going to get ripped off. I am curious to see how some of y'all are mounting your depth sounders. In my case I have to mount two one on either side of the motor. I know The Shafer has one I saw at Caddo earlier this year. Anyone else?

 Re: Removable Transducer Mounts?
Used my rear spud pole holder works great. Rais it up and down or remove it all together

 Re: Removable Transducer Mounts?
I made a bracket that mounted the transducer to the trolling motor head and just mount the unit itself on the front deck.

 Re: Removable Transducer Mounts?
Yes I just drilled a hole and put a pin in it then when I pull it up the pin goes back through the transducer pipe. Only got to try it once and it read pretty good up to about 20mph nut I also keep it just a little higher than on a normal boat.

 Re: Removable Transducer Mounts?
On my dual rig I welded a 1.25 pipe to a piece of plate and bolted it to the top of my hunt deck and rigged it the same way.

 Re: Removable Transducer Mounts?
I forgot I did go back and drill a second hole through the pipe transducer is mounted on but only one hole through the spud pipe.

I got a threw hull on two of my rigs. They are fiberglass tho. Don't know if they will shoot threw aluminum. They probably would. Edit- just checked they won't

 Re: Removable Transducer Mounts?
Cajun will it stay where you put it when running or does it move. I like that looks like you would have some give if you hit something

 Re: Removable Transducer Mounts?
Epoxy that motherfucker to the bottom of the boat on the *INSIDE* and you will never have to fuck with it again. I learned this trick working on jet drive gillnet boats in bristol bay alaska. They jump sandbars and drag ass across flats for miles out there. The transducer will read right through the hull with no problems. Works on aluminum, fiberglass, and steel hulls.

 Re: Removable Transducer Mounts?
Are you talking about the alumaducer or whatever, or just a standard transducer?

 Re: Removable Transducer Mounts?
standard transducer. just make sure the part that sends and receives the sound waves is completely coated with the epoxy.

 Re: Removable Transducer Mounts?
Thanks fellas I went with kayak ram mount for both transducer and structure scan. I have a hunt deck so the trolling motor bracket wouldn't work. I have everything mounted just need to take pics.
