Post Depth finder transducer mounting
Need some ideas for mounting a transducer on the back of my 1752 with a hint deck. Has anyone made a removable mount of any sort? I run mud and timber all the time and don't want that thing to get ripped off or destroyed. I would like to have the depth finder for when I fish. I'm out of ideas. Thanks in advance.

They make ones that mount to the floor of the boat that penetrate through the hull so there is no transducer on the outside. It's called a alumaducer

I modified the bracket from bass pro.

That is in the down position.
I stole the idea from someone else on here.

This is the gator trax style. I ordered the material yesterday to make it, cost under $20 and just going to give my welder a 6 pack for his work.

It moves a little bit, but I haven't had any problems with it.

Glad this thread started. I just got a new GPS/depth finder for Christmas and will be doing this same thing. I would like one that is removable because I only fish with it on odd occasions

I'm a fan of the alumaducer for the simple reason that Id forget to pick up one of those sliding mounts and drag it off for sure lol.

We ran one on an Alumacraft bass boat. It's mounted at the back of the boat close to the transom. Boat is .100ga

I did the water in the boat installing mine also. I think the water mimics the epoxy you use to put it down. When you buy one it comes with instructions. And that's how they recommend you find the sweet spot before mounting it permanently.

Mine isn't a hunt deck, that's just showing it next to his boat. When I get it out the mail and mount it I'll add some pics of it.

Not to hijack here, but do yall connect your GPS straight to the battery or to a switch panel?

I put mine through the switch panel and I am already thinking about changing it.

I power mine with a 12v plug into one of my 12v outlets, which are powered from the switch panel.

Thanks for all the help guys. I made one out of aluminum that slides up when I'm running the marsh and it slides down and pins when I'm fishing. Works perfect. Gave me a excuse to mess with the new spool gun too.
