Post troller and Humminbird on same battery
welded troller block to the bow of my boat. I wanted to have a 2nd power source to pick up decoys in deeper water and fish. I purchased a humminbird down schan imager to mount to the troller. Have any of you ran your sonar and trolling motor off the same 12V battery? The toller is only a 40lb thrust so its not drawing a lot of amps. Also how did you attach your sonar to the 12v terminals? the sonar has small diameter wires and I do not think crimps will work too well.

I just installed a Helix 7 and the manual said to run it of the battery for your big motor and not the trolling motor battery.

I run my TM off the same battery as my depth finder. Wanna be a able to get home. If the tm battery dies it's time to go

Run your sonar off cranking battery. The trolling motor will interfere with the sonar if it is on the same battery. I think my cranking battery is a group 24 and runs my helix 5 all day no problem. That's sometimes with my stereo going too. My 2 trolling batteries are group 29.
