no she is a country girl she knows that trick not to mention it was rather cool and she was sitting next to me trying to get the thing started then she said the hell with it we have water and snacks and im going back to fishing so we sat there for the better part of twenty to thirty mins with me working on that motor i got home today and started looking at it the starter is 15 years old so im guessing its that

Check the leads going inot the back of the starter. Sometimes they will come loose enough to get a poor connection and make the motor not start. I have a wire ion the back of my starter that will loosen up from time to time and make the motor act up. Hope this helps.
