 Almost Didnt Get Home
So i was sight fishing for reds with one of the girls i go to school with today after school well we limit out and its time to go motor will not start for anything it would not turn over im thinking starter is going out on it i was getting worried her on the other hand just went back to fishing well about 30 mins later its getting dark as can be i got to messing with the cables to the starter and all of a sudden it came to life and ran find. Any of yal have any ideas what this might be wrong

i know how these mercury switches are supposed to work but this motor has to have a broken one it will start under water out of water almost point straight up in the air anything like i had the key switch turned on and i was playing with the wires and all of a sudden it fired up and i never looked back to try to start it agian i just ran wfo back to the launch

just turn the key and start jigglin connections. when it starts youll know which one it is

I tried this trick with my girlfriend she just looked at me and said use the pull start and let's get the phuckin out of here. I chalked that up as a backfired plan lol

no she is a country girl she knows that trick not to mention it was rather cool and she was sitting next to me trying to get the thing started then she said the hell with it we have water and snacks and im going back to fishing so we sat there for the better part of twenty to thirty mins with me working on that motor i got home today and started looking at it the starter is 15 years old so im guessing its that

Check the leads going inot the back of the starter. Sometimes they will come loose enough to get a poor connection and make the motor not start. I have a wire ion the back of my starter that will loosen up from time to time and make the motor act up. Hope this helps.

thanks guys i ended up pulling the whole starter off which was a act of god seeing how its 15 years old and never been changed at all and i dont know how go devil gets tools in there to work on them its crazy small to work on and 1/4 drive is a some botch to get on there
